Edgar the Bear
By: Jena H.

There is a story about a bear named Edgar. He is one of the best-liked bears in the whole earth. I’ll tell you what it is if you promise to listen:

Once upon a time there was a bear that liked to chase the female bears around. He figured that he couldn’t get on of them, so he just went walking in the open plain.

He showed off a lot, but then he knew that he couldn’t catch girls like that. He said if anything he should be himself. One day when he was eating his food, he heard a noise. He was frightened deeply!

From then on nobody has ever saw the bear again. It’s a good thing that these little children saw what that man did. They told everybody about how that bear was just being himself, but it was like he just got punished anyway. The children thought that it would be a good thing if everyone would remember him, so they named him Edgar the Bear. Even doing a statue would be nice, just so they could see how good he was. The statue is on Main Street. It was a mushroom on it because that was his favorite food. (Besides fish, but he didn’t get that very often.) If you say so I’d say that bear is pretty important. I think that he has taught us a lesson: never try to show off or be someone your not. Well that is the story, thanks for listening!
